Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 get update to dim screen with your hand

Good news for moviegoers: with a new update for Fitbit Sense 2 and Fitbit Versa 4, you can turn off the glowing screen when moving with one hand movement. You just have to put your palm on it and the screen goes out again. Handy if you move your arm but you don’t want to illuminate the entire cinema row.

Update for Fitbit Sense 2

It is the first update for both wearables. The update makes it possible both to cover your screen to turn it off and to take calls on your wrist. In addition, Google Wallet is being rolled out as a payment option on your device, although it is still unclear whether this also applies in the Netherlands. Being able to cover the screen is very useful, because previously you could only get the screen off by setting a shorter screen timeout (where it only lights up for a short time and then quickly goes black again) or have the screen turn off when you your wrist down.

At least you can make phone calls with your wrist, as if you were a secret agent. There are a speaker and a microphone in both wearables, so that your voice is transmitted to the other person and the voice of the other person is audible to you through the speaker. A welcome addition to the gadgets, because previous variants have had this for a longer time. However, it was not possible to make these options available at launch.

Dim screen

In addition, the new update naturally comes with the necessary bug fixes. Both gadgets are now on sale in various places in connection with Black Friday. Although Friday is already over, there are many offers that are still valid all weekend (and in some cases even the whole month). We are pleased with Sense 2, as long as you see it mainly as a fitness tracker and not so much as a smartwatch. It is very comfortable: “The look of Fitbit Sense 2 is very good, because with its watch case of 40.55 millimeters it fits well on both a thin wrist and a thicker wrist. It is not as thick as, for example, the new Samsung smartwatch and its rounded square shape fits comfortably on the wrist.”

Now even better, knowing that you can easily turn an uncomfortable screen to black.
