First look at the new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
At CES 2022, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone. The device will be in stores soon. Read more about it here.
The previous FE (Fan Edition) was a great success. It was a cheaper version of the flagship, but with a lot of top features. The new S21 FE is actually a modified version of last year’s version. The smartphone is cheaper than the regular S21. From January 11, the device is for sale for 749 euros.

The device offers 5nm processors, the same 120Hz refresh rate in a slightly larger screen and a comparable triple camera system. What else is there, you ask. Well, the S21 FE has a bigger battery and comes with Android 12. The design isn’t as eye-catching as last year’s flagship model. It does have a similar bump in the top left corner for the camera module, but it doesn’t have the glossy finish like the original S21. Samsung comes with a new palette of colors for the FE. You can choose from lavender, olive, silver or black.
The FE is slightly heavier at 177 grams. This is due to the larger screen (6.4 inches). The screen is Full HD+. Don’t expect pen support from the SE.
Cameras
Nowadays you buy a smartphone almost for the cameras. These are perfectly fine with the FE. The biggest difference between the S21 FE and the original model is in the rear cameras. While both versions have a similar 12-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, the FE’s ultra-wide lens has a slightly wider field of view of 123 degrees. Also, the FE’s telephoto camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor, while that of the S21 is 64 megapixels, although they both offer 30x Space Zoom.
Samsung has high hopes for this version. The previous model was one of the best-selling Galaxy smartphones.
