iPad Pro 2021 review round-up
It can be ordered for a while and will be in the shops from this Friday. The iPad Pro 2021 is a real powerhouse on paper and American media have been allowed to use it in recent weeks.
The first iPad Pro 2021 reviews have appeared and below we summarize some notable reviews.
The Verge
The Verge tested the largest iPad Pro 2021 with 12.9 inch screen. The website is particularly pleased with the new screen type. The Verge calls the mini LED display “great” and the performance would be comparable to that of a high-quality OLED TV.
The M1 chip is also appreciated and is “insanely fast” and small functions such as Center Stage are appreciated. Thanks to Center Stage, the front camera of the iPad Pro focuses during video calling so that you can move a little without getting out of the picture.
There is also room for criticism, although that feedback is not aimed at the hardware. For example, The Verge cracks iPadOS, the operating system of the iPad Pro. The website thinks the system is limited and believes that you should be able to add multiple users, just like a Mac.

Marquees Brownlee
Also YouTuber Marques Brownlee (also known as MKBHD) has also started working on the new iPad Pro. He is generally very pleased with the device. Brownlee puts a lot of emphasis on the screen, which he says is noticeably brighter and better than previous iPad Pro generations.
Furthermore, the YouTuber indicates that there are now enough HDR movies and series to enjoy so that you get the most out of the mini LED screen. Like the other reviewers, MKBHD is especially critical of iPadOS, which is basically too limited a system. Brownlee therefore indicates that the iPad Pro 2021 is not a “must buy”, because it actually does everything the previous Pro can already do, but better and faster.
Gizmodo
Gizmodo is slightly more critical than The Verge. The website says that the battery of the iPad Pro could have been better, although the usage time is not disappointed. Gizmodo also criticizes Center Stage. The function would not always work well, although this is also due to the somewhat strange placement of the selfie camera of the iPad Pro.
But, overall Gizmodo is very positive. The site thinks the screen is beautiful. Especially when you watch movies and series in HDR, the high contrast value of the mini LED display comes into its own. The M1 chip can also count on a lot of praise. Gizmodo calls the M1 chip “actually” way too powerful for a tablet.

Rene Ritchie
YouTuber Rene Ritchie says Apple is showing its muscles with the iPad Pro 2021. According to him, the new tablet is bizarrely powerful for a tablet. Compared to the previous model, the iPad Pro 2020, the new model is said to be much more powerful.
Ritchie elaborates on the 5G internet speed of the iPad Pro 2021. The YouTuber says he has never been able to use the internet so fast with a tablet. Ritchie is not very critical, but he does indicate that the mini LED screen of the iPad Pro just does not make it to OLED. Black levels in particular would be clearly less.
More about the new iPad Pro
The iPad Pro 2021 will be in stores this Friday. The new tablet was announced last April and comes in two sizes. The entry-level model with 11 inch screen costs 899 euros and does not have a mini LED screen. The larger version with 12.9-inch display does make the switch to mini-LED and costs 1219 euros.
