The waiting is over. Xiaomi has announced three top smartphones for Germany that were presented in China some time ago and have been on the market there for some time. That’s why smartphones aren’t really new. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a look at the devices, because the Samsung Galaxy S22 in its three versions has a lot of competition. We have already seen the new smartphones.

With the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X, a total of three top smartphones are coming to Germany and taking on the Galaxy S22 smartphones from Samsung. Although you have to take the Xiaomi 12X out a bit here. This cheaper model is aimed more at the Galaxy S21 FE.

Xiaomi 12 takes on the Samsung Galaxy S22

But let’s start with the Xiaomi 12. Compared to the Xiaomi 11, it is much smaller than its predecessor with its 6.28-inch display. It’s an AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution that operates at up to 120 Hz and is bright up to 1,100 nits.

The processor is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. The main camera is a 50 MP sensor, which is supposed to create great photos and videos with the support of artificial intelligence. There is also an ultra wide angle and a macro camera with 13 and 5 MP. There is no telephoto lens.

The battery of the Xiaomi 12 measures 4,500 mAh and can be charged with 67 watts via cable and 50 watts wirelessly. A corresponding Power supply is included. Android 12 and the new MIUI 13 interface are used, so you are up to date with them.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22 the Xiaomi 12 has a larger battery with a faster charging function. However, the Chinese competitor lacks a telephoto lens and still has no IP rating, so it’s not waterproof or dustproof. Otherwise, the two cell phones do not take much.

Xiaomi 12 Pro targets the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus – and Ultra

Contrary to expectations, Xiaomi did not present a 12 Ultra today, so the Xiaomi 12 Pro remains the best smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer and duels equally with the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. For example, you get a 6.73-inch LTPO OLED display with up to 120 Hz and WQHD+ resolution. It is also extremely bright with up to 1,500 nits. The processor is also the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but directly 256 GB of internal memory and either 8 or 12 GB of RAM.

The camera of the Xiaomi 12 Pro is basically the same as that of the Xiaomi 12, except that the third sensor here is actually a telephoto lens. This allows you to bring objects closer, but not as much as with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The zoom should be around the same level as the S22 and S22 Plus.

The battery is relatively large at 4,600 mAh, but can be used recharge with up to 120 watts in the shortest possible time. A corresponding charger is included. It’s wireless with 50 watts. Android 12 with MIUI 13 is also available here. There is no IP67 or IP68 certification.

Xiaomi 12X targets the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

The Xiaomi 12X can be seen more in the upper middle class or lower upper class. It has a 6.28-inch 120Hz AMOLED display that reaches up to 1,100 nits of brightness. As a processor there but “only” the Snapdragon 870, which has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The battery measures 4,500 mAh and can be quickly charged with up to 67 watts. A wireless charging function is missing. Again, there’s the 50 MP main camera, the 13 ultra-wide angle and a 5 MP macro camera. With Android 12 and MIUI 13, this smartphone is up to date in terms of software.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE IP certification is also missing here, but that applies to all Xiaomi models. Otherwise, it is to be welcomed that you get 256 GB of internal memory here and can charge the battery so quickly. The power pack is included in the scope of delivery.
