For the quest “Shame on the Family” in Resident Evil 4 Remake you should find and deface the painting of Ramón Salazar. Here we show you where the portrait was found and how you can deface it.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Start Shame on the Family

You can start this job in Resident Evil 4 Remake at the beginning of Chapter 12 if you took the elevator back to the castle after fighting Krauser. You’ll find yourself at the merchant north of the ballroom.

In front of his room there is a blue order sheet with this mission. You can also accept the “jewel thief” job. In the following video we show you the solution for “Shame on the family”:

Find Ramón’s portrait

The order comes with a photo that shows you the place where Ramón’s portrait is supposed to be. This depicts the throne room that you visited during Chapter 10 and where Salazar dropped you through a trap door.

So leave the ballroom to the east via the antechamber to the throne room. In the northeast corner of the throne room, Salazar’s painting hangs on the wall.

Deface Ramón’s portrait

To deface the portrait, you must throw an egg at Salazar’s painting. If you don’t have an egg in your inventory, you have two options for solving the task.

  1. Wait for one of the chickens running around in front of the throne to lay an egg. Then equip it like a grenade and throw it at the painting.
  2. If you have killed the chickens, you can open a cupboard with a rectangular recess on the southern wall. Inside is a golden egg. You can also use this for the mission and throw it.

If you have successfully thrown an egg at the painting, the order is fulfilled and you can return to the dealer to get your reward in the form of three spinels to pick up.
