Fast Surface Pro 7 Plus for corporate customers and schools

No time right now?

Microsoft has upgraded the Surface Pro 7. The Surface Pro 7 Plus is said to be faster and last longer than its predecessor, but is limited to companies and the educational sector.

As part of the CES technology fair, which is only taking place digitally due to the corona pandemic, Microsoft presented the Surface Pro 7 Plus. The 2-in-1 device relies on Intel’s new generation of processors and should therefore be more than twice faster than its predecessor. In addition, the battery life should have increased – according to Microsoft to up to 15 hours. Optionally, the Surface Pro 7 Plus now also has a 4G LTE Advanced connection on board.

2-in-1 device with 12.3-inch touchscreen

The Surface Pro 7 Plus has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display (resolution: 2,736 by 1,824 pixels, 267 PPI), whose integrated ambient light sensor automatically adapts to the lighting conditions. The 11th generation Intel Core processors (Tiger Lake) should more than double the performance of the device compared to its predecessor. Depending on the version (i3, i5 and i7), eight, 16 or 32 gigabytes of RAM are available, the SSD holds 128 gigabytes, 256 gigabytes or 1 terabyte of data.

The SSD is freely removable, which according to Microsoft should serve data security. But IT admins should also look forward to an easier way of replacing possibly damaged SSDs. According to the group, further security features include the UEFI (the modern BIOS), the firmware and the complete Windows operating system. Windows Autopilot and Mobile Device Management should also enable complete setup, management and updating via the cloud.

The new Microsoft device is 292 by 201 by 8.5 millimeters and can be used as a tablet and, thanks to the docking keyboard, as a notebook. The Surface Pro 7 Plus can also be connected to an external monitor via the integrated USB-A or USB-C port. In addition, Microsoft is responding to the need to increasingly come into contact with employees via video conference. 1080p HD cameras, Dolby Atmos speakers and dual far-field microphones should ensure more quality here.

Surface Pro 7 Plus: To have from 1,029 euros
