Fan controls console with Nintendo’s biggest flop controller
The Xbox Series X|S can not only be operated with the original controller from Microsoft. A fan has now managed to gamble on the console with one of the most curious gamepads in Nintendo’s history.
Can the Xbox Series S also be controlled with a controller relic from 1989? A fan followed up on this burning question and has the Current-gen console with the then-flopped Power Glove glove controller connected by Nintendo. The result is amazing, even if the idiosyncratic controller in Halo: Infinite is shown its limits quite clearly.
Xbox Series S works with Power Glove
The YouTube channel Will it work? has made it its task Trying out weird gaming and tech combinations. In this case, the goal was to find out whether the Xbox Series S can be controlled with the Power Glove from 1989 – and it’s surprisingly easy to do. All that is required for successful linking are two accessories: a smart USB adapter and an NES to USB cable.
With these two accessories it is possible to connect the Power Glove to the Xbox and start gaming. The sensors of the glove controller take over the function of the left analog stick – so can Halo: Infinite played using motion controls will. The jump and shot button can also be placed on the Power Glove. The problem, however, is that the right analog stick cannot be transferred to the more than 30-year-old controller, which unfortunately makes it rather useless for a current shooter.

The Nintendo glove works significantly better with the snowboard game Shredders than with Halo: Infinite. In this case, the simple control allows to obtain an extremely respectable result with the NES controller.
