Facebook comes with points system and Reels for groups

Facebook groups get two new features; this is clear from an announcement from Meta, the parent company of the social network. You get access to Reels and a points system, but there’s more.

Reels and point system for groups

Parent company Meta shares the news that many Facebook users are members of at least 15 groups on the network. To better serve users’ needs, the functionality is extended for the members of a group.

A new feature announced by Facebook is the availability of Reels for groups. These are short videos that you can already share via your own profile or via Instagram. You can adjust various effects to this, and also get started with filters, text and audio. There will also be a points system. According to Meta, this should improve the group experience. The members of a group who have an active role can earn points for their contributions. The number of points obtained is shown with a group profile. With the new Admin Assist, moderators can more quickly pass through a post that has been checked by external fact-checkers. This should help to prevent fake news.

Facebook will also provide groups with an option where public events can be shared via Instagram Stories. Facebook also gives the option to enter a description about yourself for other group members and whether you are open to Messenger messages from other group members. The social network has not announced when the new features will be added.
