More and more users fear that Twitter will soon be over. Others are already tired of the social network for various reasons. You can download and save all your Twitter data in just a few steps in case the portal ever goes down or you want to unsubscribe permanently

The export function can be found directly in the settings. You can access them both in the browser version and in the Twitter app on your smartphone.

Twitter: Download data archive – this is how it works in the app

You can use Data Export to download all Twitter content that belongs to your account. This includes all of your previous tweets, direct messages, followers, and account names you follow. To download your data using the Twitter app:

  1. Opens Twitter and log into your account.
  2. Scroll up a little to see yours Profile picture top left to press.
  3. Does the menu “Settings and Privacy” on.
  4. Opens the settings.
  5. Tap on “your account“.
  6. Here you select the option “Download an archive of your data“.
  7. Enter your password again and authorize the login via two-factor authentication.
  8. In the next window, press the blue button “Request archive“.
  9. The data is now bundled and combined into a ZIP archive. This process can take up to two days. So you can put the smartphone away for now. As soon as the download is ready, you will receive a message to the email address stored on Twitter.
  10. In the email you will find a link to download the Twitter archive.

Twitter: Export data in the browser

To download the Twitter archive in the browser, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in on Twitter in the browser.
  2. Press left on “More“.
  3. Fold the area “Settings and supportt” on.
  4. Opens the section “Settings and Privacy“.
  5. In the area “your account” you open the menu “Download an archive of your data“.
  6. Enter your password here and confirm it Two-Factor Authentication.
  7. Requests the archive with your Twitter data.

Make sure in good time that your email address is confirmed on Twitter in order to have the data sent there. Included in the download archive is an HTML page where you can view all of the content, news, and media from your Twitter career so far.
