VW hits the mark: The latest electric car hasn’t actually arrived at dealerships yet, but it’s already sold out. If customers have not yet decided on the ID Buzz, they will have to expect longer waiting times.

VW ID Buzz: already sold out before the start

The ID Buzz has been available in advance from Volkswagen since May 2022. The successor to the Bullis has been well received by customers, as was already clear before the first units were delivered. Although it has neither arrived at dealers nor could it be tested, VW already has sell over 10,000 copies. This corresponds to two thirds of the annual production for 2022.

The ID Buzz is particularly popular in Norway, where around 3,400 customers secured their electric car. Germany follows in second place with 2,500 orders. Another 1,100 buyers have been found in the Netherlands and 1,000 in Belgium. VW’s sales manager Lars Krause is already talking about “impressive” numbers – although the electric car cannot yet be ordered in France and the United Kingdom (source: automobile week).

With the Delivery of the ordered ID Buzz in Europe, Volkswagen wants to start in October. In the course of time further markets are to be opened up. American customers will probably have to wait until spring 2024.
