Evernote fires almost all employees and moves to Europe

According to Patarnello, the affected employees will receive a comprehensive severance package, which will include continued salary payments for four months and up to one year of health insurance coverage.

Previously, Bending Spoons had already turned Evernote’s subscription model upside down and increased the prices. Since May 2023, there have only been tariffs in addition to the free subscription Evernote Personal and Evernote Professional. Since then, the personal subscription has cost EUR 12.99 per month instead of EUR 7.99.

The monthly subscription for the Professional tariff now costs EUR 14.99 instead of EUR 9.99. Alternatively, Evernote also offers an annual subscription. Specifically, this means: 99.99 euros per year for the personal package and 129.99 euros for the professional subscription. What effects the Evernote move to Europe and the increased prices will have is not yet foreseeable.

Bending Spoons said, “Our plans for Evernote are as ambitious as ever: Going forward, a dedicated (and growing) team based in Europe will continue to be responsible for the Evernote product.”
