Epic and Sony confirm the existence of the Matrix Awakens -apkrig
At the end of last week, the mention of The Matrix Awakens leaked to the Internet. Picture promising enjoyment on Unreal Engine 5, appeared in the PlayStation Network database, but no one signed up for it, so only speculation and estimates of what could be involved filled the space. But we only had to wait for the official news until Monday, when The Matrix Awakens was published on the PS Store with a description and the option to add it to your library today. As expected, it’s not a video game – the main reason the project was designed is to demonstrate the potential of Unreal Engine 5, so the result will be a technology demo as created by members of the original film team, including Lany Wachowski, with the help of Epic Games.
“Get ready to look into the future of interactive storytelling in Unreal Engine 5,” says The Matrix Awakens. It will be a free technology demo that will render in real time on PlayStation 5 hardware. The authors of the project, including people from Epic Games, want to demonstrate that the result can be achieved on this generation of consoles, but a full-fledged game project still cannot be compared limited technological demo, so we would at least keep expectations in check for now. However, this does not change the fact that The Matrix Awakens can be a great service for fans, who can also look forward to the pre-Christmas premiere of the fourth film with the subtitle Resurrections. If you want to be ready, you can download almost 26GB of data at the moment, but at the moment you will only get a countdown.
The tech demo, which will be released on the night of December 9-10 at The Game Awards, will feature digital versions of actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who should take us on a wild ride into the world of the Matrix, a literally bending reality. How long the show will be, or how it will be related to the new film, is not known at the moment, but as Jirka noted in Friday’s news, it is nothing completely new or unexpected. In addition to the promotional trailer for the movie Super 8, which was created in Portal 2, the developers from Epic already boasted a UE5 demonstration on PlayStation 5 in May, followed it with another demo rendered on the Xbox Series X and continued on the Sony console again.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is probably the most talked about in this regard, but we remind you that this technology should also drive titles such as Black Myth: Wu Kong, STALKER 2 or Redfall. On the other hand, it should be noted that the mere use of UE5 does not mean automatically extraterrestrial and never seen graphics, everything has to be compatible with other components and the engine is not a universal solution to overall progress.
