Elden Ring: Invocations, Prayer Books & Teachers

If you are dedicated to the invocations (you may remember them as miracles) in Elden Ring, you can find a great many invocations throughout the game or learn and purchase them from specific NPCs. We’ll show you how to unlock all teachers and the locations of all miracles here!

Notice: This guide is still under construction and will gradually be supplemented with further information and locations of invocations.

Unlock teachers for invocations

You can learn the basics of invocations from various teachers throughout the game. However, you must first find them and unlock them as a seller for miracles.

Brother Corhyn

Before you can meet this teacher, you must first defeat the boss “Margit, the Cruel Mark” at the gates of Castle Stormveil, and then rest at the location of mercy “Stormveil Main Gate”. Alternatively, you can take the secret path on the right past the castle walls to the place of mercy “Seeklippen”. In both cases, Melina will address you and unlock the Round Table Festival. In this hub area you can speak to Brother Corhyn on the left immediately after arrival.

Choose at the dialogue option “I see everything.” out to agree to sell you invocations. The invocations he teaches you at the beginning can be found in the following table:

You can increase Corhyn’s inventory over the course of the game by bringing him prayer books. You can find these as items in the game world. We show you the exact locations below.

Miriel, Chanter of Vows

With the giant tortoise Miriel, Chanter of Vows there is another teacher of invocations that you inside the Church of the Vows in Liurnia can encounter. Here you can also hand in tears of heaven for absolution at the statue.

As a special teacher, he can teach you both invocations and spells. You can also give him prayer books. So he is the alternative teacher if Brother Corhyn has already left the Round Table with you. He offers the following invocation at the beginning:

D, hunter of the dead

D is another NPC who will sell you invocations. You can first meet him by the wayside east of Holy Bridge in north Limgrave. He will later appear in the Round Table, sitting directly across from Corhyn.

In order for him to teach you his invocations, you must first show him a root of death. You can find such an item in a chest in the boss room of the “Deathtouched Catacombs”. The entrance to the dungeon is just west of the Holy Bridge in Limgrave.

Show him the root and he will want you Gurranq the Beast Cleric introduce. Agree to have a portal marked on the map that will lead you to Gurranq. Give him the root. Not only do you get that Clawmark Sigila very good seal for working invocations, but henceforth D will sell you the following miracles:

Find all prayer books

In order to expand Corhyn’s range of goods, you must find prayer books in the game world and bring them to Corhyn. Each book unlocks two new invocations for sale. Below we describe the exact locations of the books.

Godscalp Prayer Book

This book is in a chest behind an imp statue barrier that requires you to use a stone sword key. From the place of mercy “Chamber on the Elevator Side”, go back to the courtyard with the many soldiers and keep right here until you see a side entrance in front of you that leads to the barrier. Before that there are also some rats, where you can farm rune bows well. After the barrier, the chest is on the right. In the other chest you can find the way with the Seal of the Godslayer another sigil to cast invocations.

The Godscalp Prayer Book unlocks the following two invocations for sale at Corhyn and Miriel:

Assassin prayer book

This book is in the Round Table keep behind the two barriers with Imp statue in the basement. You only need one key for the first barrier, but then even two keys for the barrier behind it. You must therefore have a total of three stone sword keys in your inventory in order to advance to this chest with the prayer book.

The Assassin prayer book unlocks the following two invocations for sale at Corhyn and Miriel:

Dragon Cult Prayer Book

Loot from the patrolling knight along the way to the left of the Carian Lecture Hall in Liurnia.

The Dragon Cult Prayer Book unlocks the following three invocations for sale at Corhyn and Miriel:

Fire Monk Prayer Book

You can find one at one Corpse in the small camp with the red tents along the way in the south of Liurnia.

The Fire Monk Prayer Book unlocks the following two invocations for sale at Corhyn and Miriel:

Locations of all invocations & miracles in the game world

You can find more invocations as items in the game world. These are some of the most powerful Wonders in the game and you shouldn’t miss them. In the following we will therefore describe the exact locations.

Aspect of the Crucible: Horns

• Effect: Creates a shoulder horn that mauls enemies from low stances.
• Required belief: 27
• FP Cost: 30
• locality: loot from a certain one Knights in Castle Stormveil. Make your way out of the Wallturm location in front of you and keep to the left where the three kestrels with barrels await you. Go left onto the plateau here and drop down onto the level below. Follow the path south along the cliffs until you come to the big knight. Kill him to get this invocation.

lightning strike

• Effect: Summons a bolt of lightning that spreads from the point of impact.
• Required belief: 28
• FP Cost: 17
• locality: prey from one Scarab on a plateau just east of the Lower Earth Tree on the Peninsula of Tears in southern Limgrave. You must slowly find a way down with your horse on the protruding tombstones from the east or west. Also note that lightning bolts will rain down on you from the sky as soon as you enter the plateau.

The Flame of Frenzy

• Effect: Yellow flames of frenzy shoot out from your eyes.
• Required belief: 16
• FP Cost: 16
• locality: You can find it on a corpse in the middle of the Baptist Church of Callu on the Peninsula of Tears to the south of Limgrave.

Poison Mist

• Effect: Releases a poison mist in front of you.
• Required belief: 12
• FP Cost: 18
• locality: Prey from a scarab north of the green poisonous pond on the Peninsula of Tears to the south of Limgrave.

Divine Fortress

• Effect: Increases Holy damage resistance.
• Required belief: 10
• FP Cost: 20
• locality: prey from one Scarab on a ruined rock just southwest of the ruins of the Tomb Wall on the Peninsula of Tears south in Limgrave.
