With the RN22e and N Vision 74, Hyundai has presented two new electric cars as concepts. Both vehicles show that electric cars are anything but boring. The N-series should convince with performance and unusual designs in equal measure and attract new customers.

Hyundai: New electric cars presented as a concept

Hyundai has shown “rolling laboratories” for its N series, which initially took the form of two new electric cars to make noticable. The Hyundai N Vision 74 in particular should cause a lot of attention, which is based on the Pony Coupe from 1974 that was never published. The design at that time came from Giorgetto Giugiaro, who became known as the creator of the DMC DeLorean.

Unlike the variant from the 1970s, the new edition is an electric car. The N Vision 74 is supposed to achieve a top speed of 250 km/h and have a battery with 62.4 kWh. Hyundai speaks of a quick charging option (800 V) and a range of up to 600 km (source: Hyundai).

The RN22e is significantly less retro-futuristic than the N Vision 74. It features the same aerodynamic streamlined design as the Ioniq 6 that the company recently unveiled. Here, too, the top speed is said to be 250 km/h, while the Battery with 77.4 kWh turns out to be even more extensive. According to Hyundai, an “emotional driving experience” in the form of artificial engine noise can be added if required.

Hyundai is planning 17 electric car models

The cars now presented are concepts that will certainly not be available for purchase in the near future. By 2030, the South Korean manufacturer would like to bring 17 new electric cars onto the market. Hyundai wants to spend around 14.5 billion euros on the electrification. In the future, the manufacturer would like Produce 1.87 million electric cars every year.
