Dutch co-pilot is nice and direct against Jeff Bezos!
The Dutch Oliver Daemen, who went to space with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, was nice and direct in the well-known Dutch way.
It was perhaps the most in the news last week: the spaceflight of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. This flight had a Dutch touch, because the Dutchman Oliver Daemen was able to fly along. This cost his father quite a bit of money. But hey, it’s your son isn’t it. Daemen made a remarkable statement and Bezos was amazed.
Nice direct against Bezos
When you’re in such a small rocket waiting to be launched, you have to do something. Let’s talk a little bit about little things. And what do you say as a Dutchman to the richest man in the world? Correct! Then you say you’ve never bought anything on Amazon in your life. Bezos was surprised and said it had been a while since he heard anyone say that. It probably sounded like blasphemy to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos: He’d never bought anything on Amazon before. How is that possible?
Interview
Daemen had an interview with Reuters yesterday. This conversation, of course, was about his first flight into space, from the moment he got a call asking if he was interested in the conversations he had with his crew members, including Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, and 82-year-old -old pilot Wally Funk. Incidentally, Daemen is now the youngest person to ever fly to space. While Funk became the oldest.
Surely you’re talking to each other and Daemen said ‘I told Jeff I’ve never actually bought anything from Amazon’. And he was like, ‘oh, wow, it’s been a long time since I heard anyone say that.’
Perhaps this was also necessary. Bezos can be a little too enthusiastic (about himself) at times. Bezos no doubt has plenty of people telling him Amazon is a gift from God to humanity, so it’s cool to see one of the youngsters lead him on the right path.
