Due to the lack of players, Vortex bots will head to Destruction AllStars

Destruction AllStars by Lucid Games developers tells a wonderful story. Originally, the enticing team event was supposed to be a premium title with a dizzying price tag of 70 euros, which was to take effect after the end of a two-month period during which players could get Destruction AllStars for free with a PlayStation Plus subscription. At the end of February, however, it was announced that the game would start selling for only 20 euros from April 2, which was an unexpected concession, caused mainly by the reaction of not very enthusiastic players. Although we rated Destruction AllStars above average, we didn’t see any long-term potential in the game due to a lack of content, and that’s what’s starting to show in full these days. The number of players has decreased so much that the authors have decided to add shoes to the online matchmaking, which will complete the states and allow the matches to start, instead of waiting for a long time and worsening the whole experience.

“We wanted to start talking to the community about upcoming features and plans so that you have a better idea of what’s coming up and get feedback and opinions from you,” Lucid Games spoke to the approximately 2,200 people who make up the community players on Reddit. In the article, they explain that they want to be as open as possible and in the form of developer diaries to acquaint players with what changes the game will go through, where it will improve and what will be added to it in the coming weeks and months. But soon comes the announced information about the shoes, which Lucid Games only weakly cover up for the fact that not all players simply meet at the top.

We want to ensure that matches are filled with as many real players as possible, but when X players are missing waiting in line for a match, the remaining space will be taken by AI bots.

“With a community the size of Destruction AllStars, which is spread around the world, we can express the period of the largest and smallest activity of players in online matchmaking,” the developers explain. It is said that most often players play on weekdays from 6 pm to midnight and on weekends between 2 pm and 3 pm. hour in the morning, which is – it must be acknowledged – a relatively solid variance into which it should hit each. However, due to time shifts, it may happen that the players simply do not meet and at these very moms the bots enter the game. “We want to ensure that the matches are filled with as many real players as possible, but if there are no X players waiting in line to wait for the match, the remaining space will be taken by AI bots. The exception is Blitz, as a competitive mode that bots will never intervene in, “add the authors of Destruction AllStars. However, they do not explain whether it will be possible to set the difficulty of the shoes, or according to which more accurate key the shoes will be calculated, or whether it will be possible to add real players during the match.

The fact that it is the first developer update, foreshadows that something is going on and other points clearly state that the number of players is declining. You will now be able to join matchmaking in already assembled groups of friends, and there will also be a playlist of matches, which will allow you to narrow down the selection of modes, maps and other modifiers so that players are better concentrated in one place and join matches faster. In addition, Lucid Games promise a general improvement of the user experience, adding more “weight” to shocks, or eliminating those that seem to come from nowhere due to high ping, and the overall effort to balance the experience of the parties with the abilities of individual heroes should come into play.

But it will be really difficult to predict whether this will be enough – although the community is accommodating and in a handful of comments the players praise the developer, there are also ridiculous posts and especially recommendations for the game to reach other platforms and make crossplay available. However, this may not be as easy as it seems, regardless of the fact that Lucid Games is an independent studio. The game was released directly by Sony and it is a question of whether it will want the game saveor keep it exclusive for the PlayStation 5.
