Dreame T30 Mistral – powerful cordless vacuum cleaner in the test

Dreame T30 Mistral – design and functionality

As with most vacuum cleaner tests, we first go through each accessory part individually for the Dreame T30 Mistral. It starts with the attachments, the charging station and finally the main unit itself.

It starts with the motorized universal brush roller. This only comes with a plastic roller, which I think is completely sufficient as there is one roller for everything. It is set a little higher to prevent hair from getting caught in it. The design of the brush, which Dreame calls a special V-design, should also mean that the suction performance is more efficient and the Dreame T30 Mistral cleans more thoroughly than previous models. The support wheels work very well and the joint reacts quickly and reliably to changes in direction. Vacuuming under the sofa is also not a problem, as the head of the attachment can form a more or less horizontal line with the pipe. However, Dreame has an even better solution for this. More on that later.

The attachment, or actually the chip in the main unit, can recognize whether you are cleaning the parquet or carpet and can adjust your own performance accordingly in automatic mode. This is generally nothing special, as many vacuum cleaners can now do that. What is special here, however, is that the Dreame T30 Mistral evaluates the amount of dust sucked in (also shows it on the display) and adjusts the output in three stages, depending on how dusty or dirty the area to be cleaned is. The universal brush roller is of course used with the pipe. I particularly like this this time because of the carbon design.

Next we have the mini version, which is the electric mini nozzle. This is particularly effective for fabric and upholstered furniture, etc., as it cleans deeply without causing damage and removes all of the dust, pollen, mites and other very small particles. It has no special features, but works fine, so I use it a lot.

As usual, two brushes are also included. The 2 in 1 brush with the retractable brush is generally very practical for cleaning different surfaces. Workplace, shelves, tables, monitors, televisions, etc. Simply because it is small and gentle on the brush. Also useful in the kitchen when small misfortunes happen while grinding coffee, as the brush can just be retracted. The hard brush can literally be used for brushing. I never use it because I don’t see any practical use for it.

The slot nozzle is also an important attachment. This is noticeable simply because it is transparent, which is visually very appealing. But that’s not all. It is also illuminated at the top, which of course gives a little more visibility in the area that is being cleaned. Since I always take the pictures right after unpacking, I only noticed this later during daily use. So I’ll try to add a picture later.

As a useful extension, we also have a hose that allows you to reach places higher up, for example, much more easily without having to lift the entire device.

More interesting, however, is the articulated joint, which allows you to clean more ergonomically and vacuum under furniture, beds and more without effort. Incidentally, this surprisingly works with all attachments. Most manufacturers limit this to individual attachments. Of course, it makes the most sense with the pipe, but there are certainly situations where it can be quite practical.

Everything you don’t need goes on the wall bracket. This is also used to charge the Dreame T30 Mistral, although it is also possible to connect the charging cable directly to the battery if you do not want to use the wall bracket. Personally, I’m not a fan of wall mounts and think that every manufacturer should offer suitable stands, as these are more practical and not everyone wants to drill at home. But for what it is, it does what it should.

Dreame T30 Mistral – features, performance & battery

Let’s get to the main unit and start with the controls. Like other cordless vacuum cleaners, the Dreame T30 Mistral is activated by pressing the trigger. Basically very practical, as it helps to save the battery, as the vacuum cleaner only runs when you really need it. It is nice to see that there is still a lock button that many manufacturers do without. If you activate the motor and click this button, you no longer need to hold the trigger down. A small but effective feature, because keeping it pressed is not always practical during longer cleaning processes.

You can also easily adjust the vacuum cleaner’s performance manually at the push of a button, so you don’t necessarily have to use the automatic detection. There are three modes: Eco with 90 minutes, the standard mode with 45 minutes and the turbo mode with 7.5 minutes. The display of the Dreame T30 Mistral shows you how much time is left in real time, as well as the current dust exposure of the cleaned area. I use the middle mode most of the time, but it is easily enough to clean an entire house with several floors.

In turbo mode you can make use of the power of the 550 watt motor, which enables 150,000 revolutions per minute and a suction power of 190 AW and 27,000 Pa. This makes it even stronger than the latest Dyson models, which is impressive. But which one sucks better in the end is difficult to determine because they don’t take much advantage here. However, it is nice to see that such high performance is also slowly arriving at other manufacturers, because what use is a vacuum cleaner with a weak motor.

The dust tank has a capacity of 0.6 liters and can be opened at the bottom to empty the tank. The 5-fold HEPA filter system of class H12 is supposed to remove 99.99% of dirt, allergens and even air pollution. It makes short work of dust mites, animal hair, pollen, mold and even air pollution. To do this, the small particles below 0.3 μm are filtered, large particles are separated and pollutants are blocked. Due to the 12 cyclone system, the filter load should be 63% lower than in the previous model, so that it lasts about twice as long before it has to be washed once. It works because the filter is removable and washable.

Dreame T30 Mistral – Price and availability

The Dreame T30 Mistral costs 459 euros on Amazon. At other dealers it is also available for 325 euros for the publication of the report. I think the RRP is okay, but the offer price makes it quite attractive compared to current Dyson models, where a similar or higher performance is delivered here.
