DoNotPay will negotiate your price down

Do you think you pay too much, but is a handshake not your thing? The AI application DoNotPay can negotiate the price you pay down.

It’s not an application you might immediately think of, but now it’s technically possible. An artificial intelligence that tries to negotiate a discount on your behalf and is apparently quite successful. Very handy, of course, because who doesn’t want a discount?

What is DoNotPay?

DoNotPay is the result of the frustrations of British-American entrepreneur Joshua Browder. As a student he was often fined and decided to try if you can’t use artificial intelligence to appease parking enforcement officials. As anyone who has ever had a parking fine knows, these prints are handed out inappropriately and especially inappropriately.

Complaining yourself is difficult. The chance of success is uncertain. But an artificial intelligence trained on hundreds of successful scripts could do better, Browder thought. The result: DoNotPay was born in 2016.

His service was a great success. An estimated 60% of all parking tickets objected to by the DoNotPay bot had the objections granted. Naturally, the victims of the rain of prints were very happy. With this, Browder made national media coverage in both the United States and Great Britain.

By the way, DoNotPay is not supported by ChatGPT, but by another AI that made the news before: Jeopardy winner Dr. Watson from IBM. Later, the company expanded into a broad range of consumer services. From assistance with WOB requests, to automatic repayment requirements, for example. In total, more than two hundred legal actions have been registered, from terminating trial subscriptions, temporary, fake credit card numbers to demanding your money back.

At the moment, the company is worth more than $200 million. You can subscribe there for a two-monthly amount of around $ 36. Incidentally, lawyers do not recommend using DoNotPay for really important matters. AIs regularly make mistakes.

DoNotPay only available in the US and UK

Unfortunately, the DoNoyPay service is not yet available for Dutch customers, unless you live in England or the United States. The service is now also available in the three other Anglo-Saxon countries Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

You can already register with a credit card, but there are probably no specialized services that are useful for Dutch users yet.

It is probably a matter of time before this type of service is also offered in the Netherlands, either by this company or by a Dutch company. Why not your company? Something to keep an eye on!
