Inflation is causing problems for many people and the topic of saving is playing an increasingly important role. That’s why we present our savings tips every first Monday of the month, which hold savings potential in everyday life.

This is how you can save money in March 2023

1. Free children’s book from the Federal Environment Agency

“Messages from the bin – Leo and Polly Pop on the trail of the garbage”: That is the title of the children’s book by
Britta Böger and Stefanie Saghri. It is intended to help teach children how to use resources and waste responsibly.

The Federal Environment Agency is therefore currently offering the book free of charge. However, the print version is currently out of print. “Messages from the bin” is also available free download available. In addition, the authority offers other titles for free.

2. Save money: With Deutsche Bahn’s Super Sparpreis campaign

At Deutsche Bahn there are still the so-called Super saver prices. The campaign runs until the end of March 2023 and offers tickets on selected routes for EUR 12.90 instead of EUR 17.90. With a Bahncard 25 or 50 you can also get an additional discount of 25 percent.

A trip then only costs 9.65 euros. However, the super savings prices are only valid for a specific train. Rebooking or cancellation is not possible. The Super Sparpreis tickets are available up to 180 days before the start of a journey.

3. New customer discount: Save 20 percent on Flixxbus and Flixtrain

Flixbus currently offers a 20 percent voucher for journeys for the Flixbus or Flixtrain. On a promotion page you have to enter your cell phone number and e-mail address. After a subsequent confirmation by e-mail, you will then receive a code that is valid for one month.

However, the promotion only applies to new customers. This means that you will not receive a voucher, for example, if you have already made bookings with your mobile phone number and e-mail address. However, the offer cannot be redeemed during the holiday and Easter period from April 5th to 11th.

4. Consorsbank: EUR 50 bonus when opening a current account

At the Consorsbank there is one for the opening checking account a bonus of 50 euros this month as well. The account must be applied for by March 31, 2023. In order to receive the award, EUR 1,500 or more must also be received from another bank in three months within the first six months of completion.

The sum can also consist of several transfers. The account is also free of charge for people under the age of 28 or with monthly cash receipts of at least 700 euros. Otherwise, four euros per month will be charged.

5. Save money with Vodafone: 20 percent discount on mobile phone tariffs – from March 1, 2023

From March 1, 2023, Vodafone will start a new discount campaign. The promise: A significant saving on various mobile phone tariffs. During the campaign period, the end of which is not yet known, new customers will receive a discount of 20 percent.

The campaign applies to the GigaMobil and GigaMobil Young tariffs, but only for the basic fee. This means that the charges for an additional device in the tariff do not decrease. Despite the hefty discount, a comparison with other providers could still be worthwhile.
