Welcome to the new year! 2020 is not a year like any other behind us and things can slowly but surely go uphill. To get you off to the right start in 2021, GIGA has an overview of what you should be prepared for in the new year.

2021: That changes in the new year

With Corona and everything that the virus has brought us – lockdown, fear for family and friends, economic worries, fears and hopes for vaccines – 2020 is not an easy year behind us. Even if all the worries and hardships of the past year are by no means over, it is all the more important to have a good start into the new year 2021. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Tax cuts and rising costs: The solos will no longer apply, but VAT will climb back to normal. In economic terms, 2021 has a lot to offer that directly affects consumers.
  • An apple a day: When you visit the doctor, you can expect some surprises in the New Year. Be prepared.
  • Ban on “baby cinema”: You can read here what baby cinema is all about and why it is no longer allowed.
  • Relief for women: The government has passed a law change that will hopefully help many women. This means that special interventions in the private sphere can now be prosecuted.
  • Home office flat rate: The tax flat rate for employees in the home office is coming. But it won’t actually be of help to everyone.
  • EU-wide regulations for electronic devices: Environmentally conscious consumers have reason to be happy in 2021.
  • The increase in the license fee is off the table for now. However, the public lawyers want to take action against this.

What else can we expect in 2021:

Even if the corona virus will continue to accompany us in 2021, the vaccine gives hope for normality. GIGA will also be there for you in 2021 and will provide you with the most important information.
