The popular photo sharing service Instagram is currently malfunctioning. In the evening, users worldwide can no longer upload pictures or update their feed. The disruptions also affect Facebook and WhatsApp.

Photo friends have to be strong: Since tonight there has been a malfunction on all photo services belonging to Facebook, including Instagram. The app can be opened, but many users are unable to open or send images. When sending pictures, only the error message “Photo cannot be posted” appears. Some users are greeted with messages such as “Sorry, something went wrong”, “Activity could not be loaded” or “Feed could not be loaded”. Stories cannot be opened as desired either. The disruptions also affect WhatsApp and Facebook. With Facebook, for example, no new posts are loaded in the feed, with WhatsApp the clock stops when messages are sent.

Fault at Instagram: no pictures can be sent

On the homepage allestören.de the reports are already in the thousands. A DNS problem is suspected. For example, the URLs whatsapp.com, facebook.com and instagram.com cannot be opened in the browser. Further information is not yet known. A hacker or DDoS attack are unlikely.

Those responsible report to Twitter and confirm that “some users have problems accessing the apps and products”. You are working on a solution to get everything back under control as quickly as possible. It is not known when that will be.
