Director reveals big surprise in DC blockbuster

After a long wait, the DC film The Flash is finally about to be released – and fulfills several fan dreams at the same time. In addition to Michael Keaton’s return as Batman, the blockbuster also features an incredible cameo, according to its director.

The upcoming superhero blockbuster The Flash will see DC heroes from different timelines come together – the trailers have already revealed that Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton back in the Batman costume will hatch. But now the appearance of another DC character has been confirmed. According to director Andy Muschietti, Superman will be seen and will be played by a very special Hollywood star.

The Flash: DC cameo has been in the making for 25 years

Superman will be making a cameo appearance in The Flash – and the Kryptonian will be portrayed by none other than Nicolas Cage. This is a very special casting moment because Cage was already involved in a Superman project in the 90s was. He should have played the DC hero in Superman Lives, a film that Tim Burton was slated to direct.

But the now notorious production was plagued by chaotic problems and so the film was never finished, but was scrapped in 1998. However, there were still pictures of Nicolas Cage in the Superman costume that had already been designed. Now, Cage is finally getting the chance to portray Clark Kent in a live film adaptation. Director Andy Muschietti confirmed in an interview that Cage’s Superman will get a cameo in The Flash – more precise details have not yet been revealed. (Source: Esquire Middle East)

With the cameo appearance, a dream should not only come true for the self-confessed comic fan Cage – also the DC community has long envisioned this moment.
