Copy text from the internet at any time

Seems simple, but it often isn’t. However, it can be done quite easily.

Just copy a piece of text from a website, we all do it. But sometimes that doesn’t work, when it should be simple. We are going to the moon, so technically this should also work. We have some tips to help you do this.

Copy text from the internet

There are several ways to copy text from a website. It depends on which device you would like to do this with, so we will go through two options.

Google Lens

This functionality from Google has been around for a while and works well. To use it you need to go to the Google search app on your smartphone. Tap your camera button there. Then take a picture of the text you would like. Now select the copy button to ‘catch’ the text and add it to your clipboard. From there you can copy it everywhere. A handy option has been added, which is the Copy to Computer button. For this to work, you must be signed in to the same Google account on both your computer and phone.

iPhone Live Text

Apple just launched this feature. It is integrated in iOS 15. With the Live Text feature, you can copy text quite easily with your camera. To make sure this feature is enabled on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Language & Region. Then tap the Live Text toggle button. Then take a photo and tap the text to copy. It can be that simple.

If you work a lot on your computer, use this function. This works with Chrome and you can just select text from a site with it.
