Conditions for Marvel and Disney +: hit series could be continued

For Marvel and Disney+, Moon Knight has been a huge hit. Nevertheless, the future of the MCU series is more than uncertain. Now head writer Jeremy Slater has his say and formulates the conditions for Marvel and Disney + under which he could imagine a comeback of the action series.

There is currently no 2nd season of “Moon Knight” planned for Marvel and Disney+. In April it was announced that the streaming hit was only submitted to the Emmys as a “limited series”. Such a description therefore only applies to a completed series that does not tell a recurring story. But should this already have been the case for “Moon Knight” in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe)?

Disney+ and Marvel: Moon Knight Season 2 subject to conditions

Fans hope for a return. Either on the big screen and thus in other MCU projects, or maybe in the second season after all? It could get a different, extended name. Then the original first season would still stand on its own. The head writer of “Moon Knight” (Jeremy Slater) was recently asked about the possibilities and formulated two conditions. Accordingly, there will only be a second season of “Moon Knight” if Marvel boss Kevin Feige and Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac give their approval (source: the playlist). Quote (translated):

“I honestly have no idea. I haven’t had any discussions with Marvel yet. I think a lot of those decisions will ultimately be in Kevin Feige’s hands because he’s the one who has the master plan. And of course Oscar Isaac, because he didn’t sign a traditional seven-movie deal or whatever other actors signed. Oscar has the ability to do as much or as little Moon Knight as he wants. I think he had a lot of fun with the role and I think he really enjoyed the process and is glad he did. But I also don’t think he’s a guy who’s just going to make a sequel just because the first one was so popular.”

Already knew? Ms. Marvel is coming to the cinema

Short and good: Isaac has not yet committed to the future and it would need to be renegotiated. Marvel and Disney+ might have to dig a little deeper, because “Moon Knight” was a complete success. Although “Loki” is still the most successful MCU series from Marvel Studios to date, “Moon Knight” is not particularly inferior and reached the most Marvel fans this year. In complete contrast to “Ms. Marvel”, which got off to a rocky start. However, the fate of the young lady is already decided, after all we will be able to admire her together with Captain Marvel, Photon and Nick Fury in “The Marvels” in cinemas next year.

Make a note. She-Hulk is coming to Disney+ in August:

The fate of Moon Knight, on the other hand, remains open. Particularly bitter: The season ended with a cliffhanger. A continuation of the story would therefore be more than appropriate. However, this may still take time, hopefully not too long.
