ClipDrop – Turn physical objects into digital objects
Developed by two Frenchmen, Cyril Diagne and Jonathan Blanchet of the InitML company, it offers to capture the elements of reality with their smartphones to digitize them on their PC, in the form of an independent image.
For example, by scanning a piece of furniture or any object in your living room, ClipDrop will automatically cut out the object from its environment to create a clean image that will appear in augmented reality on the phone, with a transparent background. After which, you will only have to present your smartphone to your PC to digitally transfer the image obtained by simply dragging the object in transparency.
In addition to the elements of reality, ClipDrop also allows to divert objects from images online thanks to a browser extension. Again, the application extracts an element from its environment and creates a file in the format. png with transparent background.
How ClipDrop works might seem incongruous, but the tool should particularly appeal to graphic designers and other photo-editing enthusiasts. Capturing elements of reality to seamlessly integrate them into a photo as simply as taking a photo is indeed an appealing idea.
The application is offered free of charge with the possibility of only 10 “clips”. For the unlimited version, you will have to pay 9.99 euros per month or 39.99 euros per year. In-app purchases allow you to get unlimited clips and access to all features on all platforms.
ClipDrop is the fastest way to extract and copy everything around you.
