Chromecast with Google TV is coming to the Netherlands: all information

More than 1.5 years after the launch of the Google Chromecast with Google TV, it is time for the device to be released in the Netherlands. The media stick is finally coming to our country, as is clear from the announcement from Google.

We had to wait a long time, but Google has decided to release the Chromecast with Google TV in the Netherlands. The media stick not only makes it possible to cast content from, for example, the smartphone, tablet or laptop to the large (television) screen, but also to use more functions. The stick was presented for various countries a year and a half ago, but in the Netherlands we had to do without this nice gadget.

The reason it took so long is because the stick should be made suitable for the Dutch providers. Incidentally, those who already have the stick at home and therefore have an imported version, would also be offered the interface aimed at the Netherlands.

What else can you do with the new Chromecast? The various services, trending series and films are bundled in a clear interface. You can operate this platform well and quickly thanks to the supplied remote control. This provides a direct link to the Netflix and YouTube services. You can also use the voice control, with the Google Assistant helping you. For example, you can also ask to dim the lighting or to switch to the screen with the images from the Nest security camera. It is also possible to switch the television on and off.

In the Netherlands, the main screen of the service offers space for the services YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Videoland, NPO Start, Ziggo GO, Viaplay, HBO Max and Apple TV. You can also download more than 6500 apps for Google TV yourself. The Google TV supports 4K HDR and is plugged into the HDMI port of the television.
