Chrome 94 for Android brings Material You and improvements tabs
Google has started rolling out a new update for the Chrome browser. In Chrome 94 we come across several new features.
Chrome 94
Every so often a new version of the Google Chrome browser appears. This browser has also been updated to Chrome 94 and this brings a number of improvements for Android. In the new version, users can get started with activating Material You design elements. You can activate this by using the ‘flags’. To do this, type the following address in the url bar;
chrome:flags#dynamic-color-android and chrome:flags#theme-refactor-android
Tabs
Another improvement in Chrome 94 has to do with the tabs. Since an earlier update to Chrome, you can open tabs in a group. Personally I find it very pleasant; but for those who think less so, there is good news. In addition to the option to open a link in an incognito tab or in a group, Chrome 94 offers the option to open it in a ‘normal’ tab as well.
Other news
An optional switch is available to always use a secure connection. At Settings > Privacy and security you can then set to always use HTTPS. Improvements have also been made in the background.
Chrome 94 for Android is being rolled out as an update through the Google Play Store. It can just take a while until everyone sees the update coming in on the smartphone.
