Children in The Hague go to school a day less due to teacher shortage

Due to the shortage of staff, children from at least six primary school classes in The Hague are currently attending school four days a week. On the fifth day they are taught at home.

It is not clear which schools are involved.

‘Not the last time’

“It is not the first time and it will not be the last time that children temporarily go to school for four days instead of five,” a spokesperson for the school umbrella in The Hague told the Telegraaf. “The pond of teachers is not full. We also have a substitute pool of employees that we can deploy, but that has also almost dried up. It is a very vulnerable situation.”
