Car sharing service starts car subscription with a flexible term

The Miles car sharing service has launched a new car subscription. Customers can now rent vehicles flexibly for between two and 24 months.

Miles launches new flexible car subscription

Vehicles in the Miles Auto subscription can be booked from 439 euros per month

The new Miles car subscription includes ancillary costs such as registration, insurance, maintenance and seasonal tires. Tenants, in turn, bear the costs for petrol, energy and any parking fees.

The cheapest rental car in the new subscription is a VW Polo. Customers pay from 439 euros per month for the combustion engine. In addition, an Audi Q2 and an Audi A4 Avant are also available for petrol engines. The latter is the most expensive car in the fleet and starts at a price of 689 euros per month.

If you prefer to rent an electric vehicle, you can currently only book a VW ID3 for at least 519 euros per month. From the beginning of January 2023, however, an Audi e-tron will also be available for at least 899 euros per month. At the end of January, Miles wants to add a VW Taigo to its range of products.

Rental cars can be booked throughout Germany

People all over Germany can book a vehicle with the new car subscription. The booking process is completely digital. On the website, customers can choose the desired vehicle model and specify the booking period. They must also select the planned kilometers per month.

Miles promises to then deliver the vehicle free of charge on the desired date. The waiting time would be a maximum of two weeks. When the rental period is over, the car can be returned to the nearest TÜV Süd center. There, the condition of the car is checked by an independent appraiser.

Miles competes with other car sharing providers with car subscriptions

There are also other providers for long-term bookings of rental cars. However, companies such as Sixt limit the rental period to up to six months. The mobility service Lynk & Co offers to rent a vehicle indefinitely. However, the monthly subscription is about a hundred euros more expensive.

Just a few weeks ago, Miles took over the mobility service WeShare from Volkswagen. The takeover is expected to increase the fleet of the carsharing service by around 10,000 electric vehicles.
