Buying PlayStation 5 faceplates is not possible for now
If you want to give the PlayStation 5 a unique look with the Dbrand faceplates you are out of luck. Unfortunately.
Although the panels on the PS5 are fairly easy to remove, Sony has not released any faceplates of its own to date. One company that did sell these things and became quite infamous for them is Dbrand. That has not gone unnoticed. The company now feels compelled to stop selling the faceplates, by Sony.
Sony has engaged a lawyer. The Japanese company threatens legal action if Dbrand does not stop the sale. Of course, Dbrand can’t challenge a giant like Sony and so the company has wisely decided to stop the sale, at least temporarily.
It’s not that Dbrands gives up easily. The company still has the ambition to continue to sell the PlayStation 5 faceplates. In a post on Reddit, they denounce Sony’s behavior and find it ridiculous that the Japanese company does not allow third parties to make accessories for the PS5.
It is not known when Dbrand will start selling the PlayStation 5 faceplates again. The brand is keen to offer this again in the not too long term. However, the chance is small that they will come to an easy solution together with Sony.
