Bland of course, but I actually thought he was funny. Watchmaker IWC has of course been associated with the Mercedes Formula 1 team for many years. The two parties regularly release something cool in honor of the long collaboration. This is how the IWC Toto Wolff Edition came about.
It is a timepiece based on the big Pilot Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition. The Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One is limited. There are only 100 of them. The very last copy will be auctioned through auction house Bonhams.
The auction is currently in full swing. The auction closes tomorrow and then the proceeds of the clock will be announced. Interestingly enough, it’s not number 100 going up for auction, it’s number 50 out of 100. But it’s still the last one available. Hence the latest IWC Toto Wolff Edition. Well, you understand.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Ignite. A partnership between Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and Sir Lewis Hamilton. The organization is committed to more diversity within motorsport. The auction also involves a donation from IWC. 50,000 euros will go to Ignite from the watchmaker.
