Are you planning a trip? Whether it’s a short weekend trip with friends or a three-week tour of Asia with your partner: it’s useful to have a place where everything is recorded. Stippl is such a place. The app helps you with your packing list, but also with handling finances.

Finance on vacation

The Dutch and finances are sometimes a challenge. One thinks he should pay less because he didn’t drink alcohol on a night out, the other doesn’t care if he or she pays 50 euros more than someone else. Sometimes it can get quite complex. It is useful to record in an app what everyone has paid. This is especially smart with a holiday, because sometimes you can no longer recognize in your bank account afterwards what it was exactly that you paid or where it was exactly.

It is very useful to record during your trip that you have paid something. You can do that in the Stippl app, where you can also hook up your friends who then put their financial loss in the app. This way you have a nice list after the holidays and you can see who still has to settle what with whom. Very very handy. But you can do much more in the app, because you can also record where you are traveling to and then book a hotel room via Stippl at well-known websites Booking.com, Hostelworld and Airbnb.

A third major pillar in Stippl is the ability to create a packing list. For example, you can select ‘business’ or ‘beach’ and you will get some extra items on your packing list that match: flipflops and swimwear for example (not for business, for the beach). Especially if you go to a warm destination such as Curaçao and you are here in the Netherlands in the middle of winter, it is sometimes very difficult to make that change in clothing, but such a packing list helps enormously.

What is nice about Stippl is that everything from planning to the further financial settlement after the trip can all be done in one app. We can imagine that the app can also be expanded with, for example, a place where you can share photos (also very useful if you are traveling with friends), or a place where you can book flights so that you can really plan your entire trip in one app. (imagine, for example, that you can also put your boarding passes and tickets for events in it, then it is completely complete).

There are also drawbacks to the app. So he’s a bit slow. He sometimes really has to think before he does something and then you have already tapped an item a few times (adding the beach items to your packing list, for example). It would also be useful if the app was available in Dutch. Now everything is self-explanatory, even if you are not very good at English, but it would be nicer if we could use it in our own language.

Handy travel app

Nothing but praise for Stippl. The app has a very nice design and does not come with all kinds of ads and things that you have to pay for. Moreover, at a certain point you will receive an overview of all your trips and you can, for example, quickly look up how much an average dinner in Portugal cost, if you are already on a trip to Spain and are wondering which country is more expensive in the end. Again, being able to add photos would give an extra dimension to this app. Not only for sharing, but also for storing those nice memories. After all, that is the best thing about traveling, that you learn wonderful new things and that you can relive those memories for as long as possible.
