BlizzCon back in 2023? Blizzard ensures to do the necessary

BlizzCon will take place in 2023…or so Blizzard hopes. It should be remembered that the group canceled the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions due to Covid-19 and other internal problems (sexual harassment and discrimination). Will next year be the right one for a comeback?

“We previously announced that we were taking a break from BlizzCon while we reimagine it for the future, but we want to return to a live event that allows us to celebrate the community”says Mike Ybarra, the president of Blizzard, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “We recently hired a new BlizzCon lead, April McKee, who is working hard on this. We are determined to bring BlizzCon back in 2023.”.

It is worth noting that this would be a question of a face-to-face event. The latest dates back to 2019. Suffice to say that it’s been a while now.

BlizzCon isn’t the only major gaming event returning next year. E3 didn’t happen last month, but the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), which runs the show, plans to bring it back in 2023 as a physical and online event. Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest will also return as an online and in-person event, which could lead to a clash of summer video game conferences.
