It is secure, convenient and usually also quick: the fingerprint sensor has become an integral part of Android smartphones. However, if it should make a fuss or only register the fingerprint with a delay, there is a simple trick to bring it back into shape.

Almost all new Android smartphones have a fingerprint sensor on board. Depending on the price range, the quality of the sensor is subject to significant fluctuations. As a rule of thumb: Expensive smartphones have a higher-quality fingerprint sensor installed, and ultrasound also beats the optical method. Nevertheless, nobody has to be satisfied with a lame fingerprint sensor.

Register second fingerprint in Android smartphone

Because with the help of a trick you can give every fingerprint sensor a little help. The secret: Simply enroll a second fingerprint from the same finger. What sounds like a joke at first is actually true. Modern smartphones can register multiple fingerprints. Usually the other places are intended for different fingers, for example for the right and left thumb. But smartphone owners might as well enroll their primary finger, which they use to unlock the phone, two or more times.

The advantage: The more different scans the smartphone has your fingerprint, the there is a higher probability that you will be recognized quickly and directly the first time you hang up and the device unlocks.

In order for you to get 100 percent out of the trick, it is important that the second fingerprint is slightly different from the first. It is best to use the areas that you did not scan or did not scan correctly for the first fingerprint. Every nook and cranny of your fingertip helps. In this way, both fingerprints can close the gaps of the other – and you will be recognized quickly.
