Bilderberg: secret club fully in AI this year
What are Kaag and Rutte doing with dozens of other prominent figures in a heavily guarded hotel in Portugal, where the press is not welcome? The major newspapers and TV channels pay no attention to it, so we do: Bilderberg 2023.

Bilderberg and the Chatham House Rule
Bilderberg was founded by the late Bernhard von Lippe-Biesterfeld, grandfather of the current Dutch head of state Willem IV. The first Bilderberg meeting took place in Hotel Bilderberg in Oosterbeek, near Arnhem. Hence the name. The Bilderberg conferences are annual gatherings of leading personalities from the Western world. These are (in theory) informal meetings, where heads of state and other rulers can talk freely about major world problems.
Part of being able to “talk freely” is that the press is not welcome. Attendees may quote statements made by participants, but only if they do not give a source reference. This is known as the “Chatham House Rule”, which is intended to allow those present to speak freely without being judged publicly.
There is a “gentlemen’s agreement” with major media groups and news agencies that they do not pay attention to Bilderberg. In return, top figures from the media world are occasionally invited. Very occasionally journalists do not adhere to this, because a secret meeting where the most powerful people in the Western world gather is of course quite newsworthy.
What do we know about this cozy chat club?
The organization behind the Bilderberg conference publishes two publicly accessible documents containing valuable information: the guest list and the topic list. This topic list is as follows.

Much Bilderberg attention to AI
It is interesting for technology enthusiasts that AI is high on the agenda. No wonder, ChatGPT and similar powerful technology promises to become more disruptive than the internet. In many ways, AI is already smarter than humans, and that will only increase in the coming years. From the AI world, the greats Sam Altman, director of OpenAI, Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind) and the CEOs of Microsoft, Google and Palantir have been invited to Bilderberg 2023.
Banking system
The banking system is also cause for great concern for Bilderbergers. Many banks are in dire straits and the stability of the financial system is fragile. This also explains the popularity of cryptos like Bitcoin. Bitcoins can only be mined with great effort, while dollars and euros can be created from scratch by the central bank. The central bankers are now in a dilemma. Higher interest rates cause payment problems, but low interest rates fuel inflation.
Russia, India and China
The increasingly close cooperation between Russia, India and China in BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Council clearly worries the Bilderberg participants, which is why all three countries feature on the list of topics. The meeting may also be used to iron out any wrongdoings between the US and the EU. The US government is supporting US companies for the green transition, thereby luring European companies to the US. The EU countries are obviously less happy with this. Hence the topics Europe and Industrial Policy and Trade.
Is all this secrecy necessary for Bilderberg? Opinions differ on this. Precisely because of this secrecy, the meetings arouse a lot of mistrust. On the other hand, those in power are of course just people (unless you believe Alex Jones’ reptilian theory) and it helps to be able to talk things out informally in private.
