Big hit at Tesla: Free charging in Germany
Tesla drivers can count themselves lucky again. A special offer will soon be launched on the e-car manufacturer’s superchargers: charging up on the fast charger will no longer cost anything. However, there are limitations.
Tesla offer: charge e-cars for free
Finally, German Tesla drivers can look forward to the holiday offer known from the USA. In the coming weeks, each weekend, Tesla will switch some superchargers to free charging. For the first time, the campaign will also be extended to locations in Germany and can therefore also be used without any problems for German Tesla drivers.
So that there is no unpleasant surprise when it comes to billing, Tesla drivers should note a few things: First of all, not all German superchargers take part, but selected locations only along typical holiday traffic routes. Means: A clear focus is on the north-south connection along the A7.

What German Tesla drivers should pay attention to
With the offer, Tesla wants to better distribute the utilization of the superchargers. Accordingly, customers cannot always load for free. The action is in Germany limited to weekends (Friday to Sunday). Electricity is then free between February 18 and March 6, before 08:00 or after 19:00.
Make a European comparison German female Tesla drivers still get the worst deal. In the Netherlands, France, Sweden and Norway, the “free loading times” are longer (source: Tesla). On the other hand, at least the perceived savings for German customers are greater, since people in this country are used to completely different electricity prices.
Here’s what else you should know about Tesla:
If you don’t live in the Bavarian Alps and can enjoy the holiday season there with a small bonus, you still benefit. Too bad that still Not all e-car drivers can enjoy the Tesla offer. The activation of the supercharger for electric vehicles of other brands has not yet arrived in Germany even in the test phase.
