Thursday at Aldi: 65-inch TV at a budget price

In recent months, Aldi has repeatedly offered the same Medion TV with a 65-inch screen diagonal and only changed the price. That has changed with the Medion Life X16566. It is a new model that is offered at an attractive price.

Aldi sells 65-inch televisions for only 599 euros

Aldi will again be offering a 4K television on October 28, 2021. He bears the name Medion Life X16566 and is sold through the online shop (Look at Aldi). Despite the low price, you get a full set of equipment. This includes an HDR mode with which certain content is displayed in particularly good image quality. With a maximum brightness of the LCD panel of 350 cd / m², HDR effects are not as convincing as on more expensive devices. At least the device supports dynamic HDR image adjustment according to the Dolby Vision standard, which is sent by Netflix, for example.

As is common with such televisions, a Triple tuner installed for satellite, cable and antenna. This means that everything can be received directly on the television without any detours. You can access the Internet via WiFi and use the smart TV functions to call up the most popular streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video directly. This time Medion did not save on connections either. This was often a problem with earlier models. Total stand four HDMI 2.0 ports are available. So enough to be able to connect consoles and the like. However, HDMI 2.1 is not supported. If you like, you can hang the TV on the wall thanks to the VESA standard. Stereo speakers with 12 watts each provide decent sound. As usual, you are covered by the guarantee for three years.

In this Video we will tell you where the advantages and disadvantages of LCD and OLED are:

Is the price for the Aldi television really that good?

The Medion Life X16566 with 65 inches, 4K resolution and HDR function is pretty cheap at 599 euros. If you look at alternatives, for example the Hisense 65AE7000F (look at Amazon) or LG 65UP75009LF (look at Amazon), you will quickly find that these cost a little more. There you have to pay at least 30 to 60 euros more, you don’t get more equipment and even a poorer energy class. The only advantage we see with the LG TV is webOS as the operating system. But if you want it as cheap as possible, you can use the Aldi television.
