Better ecosystem connectivity, more animated widgets

The MIUI 13 performance was divided into three parts – MIUI 13 for mobile phones, MIUI Pad (for tablets), MIUI Home (for smart home) and MIUI TV. The whole thing is called MIUI Family – a whole family of intelligent connected devices will be created. The source is the official Xiaomi event.

Fluency and reliability

At the beginning, they boasted that they had fixed more than 425 of the most common problems, analyzed more than 6,000 error-reporting videos, and now MIUI should now be more stable than ever before. The figure below indicates the axis that records the number of problems in recent years. The dotted line is an average sample of problems during previous years.

MIUI 12.5 had roughly the same or slightly fewer issues than previous versions. The text on the far right says the state of the MIUI devices after the November November update.

Subsequently, they presented optimization from the ground up and cooperation with the company TTL, which is to provide them with an assessment of fluency. They also showed a certificate for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, which reached level 5.

They tested the most popular applications and compared their performance in MIUI 12.5 vs. MIUI 13. The difference was a 15% smaller imaging drop for the flagship, a 32% drop for the middle class model and up to 52 for the most available models. For 23 system applications, there was a 23% improvement in flag smoothness, 26% for the mid-range model and 20% for the cheapest models.

They also briefly mentioned the technologies that came with MIUI 12.5 – Liquid Storage, which better optimizes file size, Focused Algorithm – algorithms that will better allocate resources between tasks. Finally, Atomized Memory – memory management enhancements that allow it to be expanded using internal memory.

Security

This section mainly concerned the protection of Chinese users. They showed here how MIUI can protect the user from fraudulent SMS messages, warn of fraudulent phone calls, even before you pick up the call, and also when receiving suspicious files.

Xiaomi showed the possibilities of multitasking, enlarging and reducing windows, support for well-known keyboard shortcuts, and also showed accessories for the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. Specifically, a keyboard and stylus – these will cost 55 and 48 € in China.

More than 3,000 of the most common Chinese applications have been optimized for Xiaomi tablets. We have no idea if this system will come into the world. Also for what global applications it would be optimized.

MIUI Family, MIUI TV, MIUI Home – news that will probably stay in China

MIUI Family is to show the complete interconnection of the ecosystem of smart devices – MIUI Home, MIUI Watch, MIUI mobile, MIUI TV and MIUI Pad. Add XiaoAI voice assistant and you have a beautifully closed unit. All these devices will be able to communicate with each other and share data about your activity – you will be able to easily view the result of your run on the TV.

MIUI Home is something like Nest from Google. Intelligent home assistant, through which you can control all smart electronics in the home – from the vacuum cleaner to the light bulb. The whole thing has a modern environment and also works with other electronics from Xiaomi – telephone, watch, TV.

MIUI TV is an extension of MIUI for televisions. For example, it allows you to browse any content from your phone to your mobile. Whether it’s social networking, video or music, you can do it all on Xiaomi TV.
