Xiaomi

To start with, we start with perhaps the king when it comes to releasing smartphones, Xiaomi. The brand, which was previously mainly known for its cheap smartphones, is now also working hard in the midrange and high-end class. The company also knows how to release many good smartphones. Especially when you look at price-quality ratio, Xiaomi phones often score very well. Xiaomi also often supplies phones with strong specifications for their price, against which there are low profit margins and advertising in the software.

The focus of the company is furthermore mainly on speed, the extensive functionalities of MIUI and on the cameras. Below we list a number of smartphones from Xiaomi, which are the best ones to buy at the moment.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (+- 195 euros)

In the price category up to 200 euros, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is one of the best smartphones you can buy. With its Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz, the device may have the best display you can buy around the price of 200 euros. Many competitors here have an LCD panel with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The screen of the Redmi Note 11 is therefore a lot nicer, smoother and richer in contrast. In addition, the screen has a high brightness of 1,000 nits, which makes it easy to read in the sun. The display is really special for this price range.

In addition to the display, the Redmi Note 11 with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 has a fairly smooth processor for its price range. Furthermore, the phone has a colorful design and an extensive camera island that includes a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP wide-angle lens. Finally, the device comes with extras such as a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD card reader. Unfortunately, it is not fully known what the update policy for the Redmi Note 11 entails. Xiaomi promises in any case an upgrade to Android 13, but whether the smartphone will also get Android 14 is not known.

Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (+- 290 euros)

For about 65 euros more you can purchase the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (New Edition). This device mainly focuses on the design, the cameras and the update policy. It’s a shame that the phone still runs on Android 11, but according to Xiaomi, the 11 Lite NE will receive three Android upgrades and four years of security updates. This is very good for a device of around 250 euros.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE also has three cameras on the back. These are a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle lens and a 5 MP telemacro lens. The latter camera is optimized for taking macro photos. The phone also has 5G and has an IP53 rating. This makes the 11 Lite NE splash-proof and protected against dust. In addition, the smartphone is also quite smooth, it has a beautiful and smooth 6.55 inch Full HD + AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, stereo speakers and an original design. Keep an eye on! This device fluctuates a lot in price, so you have to pay attention when you can best buy the phone.

Xiaomi 11T Pro (+- 440 euros)

Brute force, this is what the Xiaomi 11T Pro focuses on. The device has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. This is Qualcomm’s high-end chipset from last year. In addition, 11T Pro charges with a power of no less than 120W. This makes the phone one of the fastest charging smartphones on the market. Although the device is not the fastest.

Furthermore, the phone has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an expanded camera island with a 108 MP main camera, 8 MP wide-angle lens and a 5 MP telemacro camera. All this is housed in a luxurious, but somewhat bulky housing, made of glass and metal.

Do you want to keep 100 euros in your pocket? Then you can also choose the Xiaomi 11T (not Pro). This device is the same in many respects, but has a less fast processor, charges more slowly and has less storage capacity as standard. Xiaomi 12X (+- 510 euros)

The compact topper that was already in the ‘Best compact smartphones (2022) list’ certainly deserves a place in this list. The smartphone is the most affordable device from Xiaomi’s new 12 series and is relatively compact, just like the ‘regular’ Xiaomi 12. The 12Xl has a 6.28-inch screen with fine and thin screen edges. This has the faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. This compared to the Snapdragon 870 chipset in the 12X. For the rest, both devices are more or less the same in terms of hardware.
