Best Android apps in the Google Play Store week 28

Every Monday in the ‘Best Android apps’ section, we discuss a selection of cool apps with a high score in the Google Play Store. This time we discuss, among other things, an app for DIY and a nice photo editor.

It’s summer and then many people either go on a nice trip with their holiday money or they invest it in their home. If you want to do odd jobs yourself, you save money that you don’t have to spend on handymen, but the materials are still pricey. In the app of DIY store Praxis you can shop, among other things, but you will also find shopping vouchers, which can be very useful if you want to save on your project. You can also see your purchase history, which can be very useful if you want to make sure you buy skirting boards in the exact same colour. It even contains a calculation tool if you want to lay a laminate floor and have to figure out how many packs of planks you need.

Remini – AI Photo Enhancer

It immediately sounds very serious: enhancer, but actually it is of course exactly the same thing you do with a Snapchat lens or a filter on your phone itself. Remini hangs a bit against Google Photos by offering a way to polish poor quality photos, but also by giving portrait photos that little bit more to make them look more professional. The wonderful world of AI is at your feet in this app, without too much fuss.

Pokemon Sleep

It’s not available yet, but will be released later this month: Pokémon Sleep. Based on the popular game and anime franchise Pokémon, this fun app to help you understand your sleep is very quirky and is now open for pre-registration. The idea is that the more you sleep, the more Pokémon you will see. It is not linked to any Pokémon game or Pokémon Go: it is a standalone app. You’ll gain insight into the different types of sleep there are, and it’s up to you to research the Pokémon’s different sleep types and fill the sleep dex. The app also contains options to help you fall asleep, if you often have problems with that. There is already a lot of buzz around this app and you can pre-register now.

Flowkey: Learn to play the piano

If you would like to learn to play an instrument, the piano is often a good entry. You won’t do that quickly as Wibi Soerjadi, but it is an instrument on which you can learn to play something quite quickly. Even if it’s just Mieke has a lamb. With the Flowkey app you can learn how to play the piano via a keyboard that appears on your screen. You can find all kinds of hip songs, including Bella Ciao from the popular Netflix series La Casa de Papel. Moreover, the app is suitable for different levels, so if you can already play Mr Blue and want to take it a step further, this app can also help you very well.
