Backbone comes with controller for Android smartphones

The game brand Backbone has announced a controller for Android phones. It is the Backbone One that works thanks to a USB-C connection. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack, so you can immediately equip your phone with a way to listen to audio with wired earbuds.

Gaming on a smartphone is fine in itself, but you are at the mercy of the whims that sometimes come with a touch screen. You miss being able to bang on the buttons and it’s better not to throw your phone in the corner in frustration. There is a hybrid, namely in the form of a controller for your smartphone. There are several of them, but Backbone One is a new one that gives you buttons, so you no longer have to use your touch screen to play a game and therefore gaming feels a bit more natural.

Backbone is an app that allows you to play games and the Backbone One is therefore equipped with a special button that opens the Backbone app in one go. This way you can play games right away, but also quickly make screenshots and videos of your gameplay. There was already such a controller for iOS before and there is no difference in design between the iPhone variant and the Android variant. The iPhone version is also available in a PlayStation version, while this does not apply to this new one.

Gaming on Android

The controller is mainly marketed as a device with which you can play one of the most popular video games to appear on mobile, namely Call of Duty: Mobile. The controller has a low latency, which means that feedback from the device comes through almost immediately and there are fewer stutters.

The Backbone One controller costs $120 and works on Android phones running Android 8.0 and above.
