Cardboard for Avatar: The Way of the Water

Avatar: The Way of the Water surpassed $1.5 billion at the box office and became the highest-grossing movie for a film released in 2022. James Cameron was featured on the podcast Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? to discuss his film and rightly announced that it is now profitable in view of the current box office. According to the figures circulating, the budget is $400 million. Then you have to add the budget for marketing. Also note that 100% of the price of a cinema ticket does not go into the pockets of James Cameron and Disney. One part concerns the cinema where the film is shown, another the VAT and there are other factors to take into account, hence the interest of hitting hard at the box office for it to be profitable.

This is what James Cameron said for the sequences:

Looks like I can’t get out of this, I’m going to have to do these other sequels. I know what I’m going to do for the next six or seven years. The point is, we’re going to get through this. I’m sure we’ll have a discussion with Disney executives soon about the action plan for Avatar 3, which is already in the box — we’ve already filmed and are busy photographing the entire movie, so we’re in extended post-production to do all the magic of the computer-generated image. And then Avatar 4 and 5 are both written. We even have part of the 4 in a box. We started a franchise at this point. We started a saga that can now span multiple films.

What to expect next?

Re Avatar 3James Cameron has already announced that the spectators will discover cultures different from those present in the first two films. “The fire will be represented by the “Ash People” the “People of the ashes”. I want to reveal the Nav’is from another angle because, for now, I have only shown their good sides”the director recently said.
