Are you going to pay a fee to share your Netflix subscription outside the family?

Netflix will charge an additional fee in 2023 for subscribers who share their subscription with others, such as family and friends. Would you pay this fee?

Share Netflix account

Many people save on their monthly costs by piggybacking on the Netflix subscription of others. Even half of Androidworld readers share their login details with their neighbor, mother and/or best friends. From the beginning of 2023, Netflix wants to change this. Those who share their Netflix account with members outside the family from next year will in fact be given two options: pay extra or migrate.

The first option allows you to create sub-accounts for additional members outside the family. You pay a surcharge for this. Netflix has previously tested this system in South America. Users had to pay about 2 euros extra for this per account. The second option uses the new Transfer Profile function. You can take all your data with you to a new Netflix subscription. So you won’t lose your watch history, My list, saved games and other settings.
