Robert “Patrick” Söderlund, a former executive vice president of Electronic Arts, who oversaw all of the publisher’s game production, decided to stand on his own two years ago and set up Embark Studios.
Already from the region in 2019, he boasted with the first crumbs about the first planned game of the studio, from which the action shooter Arc Raiders emerged during today’s The Game Awards. Years ago, it was promised that it would be a sci-fi free-to-play cooperation, and nothing has changed.
Arc Raiders will make you the title raiders reflecting the threat called ARC, which is a kind of robot invasion of your homeland. On the vast plains, you will work together to repel one robot after another, with their creator clearly betting on size than anything else.
The game is full of screams, how it intends to change the established genre of third-person shooters and cooperation, because it is said that it will not be enough to just choose the right type of ammunition. In the trailer, which also shows footage from the game, you can see the gradual blasting of the giant robot’s spider legs before the final dot from the absurd jump is set.
We will find out next year when the Arc Raiders (r) will be the evolution of the genre, when the game will be released on computers, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. So this is one of the few titles that no longer counts on the old generation and will therefore be truly next-gen.
