If you want to buy an iPhone 14 now, you have to dig really deep into your wallet for a new Apple cell phone. The prices are tough and have been increased significantly in this country.

updated: In the meantime, Apple has presented the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max and the fears have come true. We have to accept massive price increases in Germany (source: Apple). The acquisition prices in detail:

  • iPhone 14 from 999 euros
  • iPhone 14 Plus from 1,149 euros
  • iPhone 14 Pro from 1,299 euros
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max from 1,449 euros

All models can be pre-ordered from September 9 (2 p.m.; see Apple). They will then be available directly from September 16th. With the iPhone 14 Plus, Apple needs a little longer, because this will not be available to customers until October 7 at the earliest.

The euro is anything but particularly strong at the moment, while the US dollar is benefiting from the weak currency. For quite a while, there have been price increases at Apple in this country. Massive price increases must also be expected with regard to the iPhone 14.

iPhone 14: Massive price increases in Europe

These fears are now confirmed in a rumored official price list for the French market (Source: iPhone.fr). It doesn’t bode well. One look at it will probably blow your mind in the end:

  • iPhone 14: 1,029 euros (128 GB), 1,149 euros (256 GB) and 1,379 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 14 Max or Plus: 1,129 euros (128 GB), 1,249 euros (256 GB) and 1,479 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 14 Pro: 1,279 euros (128 GB), 1,399 euros (256 GB) and 1,629 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: €1,379 (128GB), €1,499 (256GB) and €1,729 (512GB)

For comparison, the current German prices of the current iPhone generation:

  • iPhone 13 mini: 799 euros (128 GB), 919 euros (256 GB) and 1,149 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 13: 899 euros (128 GB), 1,019 euros (256 GB) and 1,249 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 13 Pro: 1,149 euros (128 GB), 1,269 euros (256 GB) and 1,499 euros (512 GB)
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: €1,249 (128GB), €1,369 (256GB) and €1,599 (512GB)

Note: Due to the slightly higher VAT in France, the German prices are slightly cheaper (difference of 10 euros). Taking this into account we can expect a price increase of 120 euros for all models in Germany – a fat additional price. What is striking: The source does not mention prices for the 1 TB variant of the Pro models. But there will certainly be.

But how credible are these prices? The resolution will be available no later than the evening of the Apple event. Better prepare yourself for a sharp price increase and get yourself a chair. On the other hand, if you are hoping for price reductions in the near future, you are likely to be disappointed.
