Apple will launch a self-driving electric car by 2025

An Apple car still seems a long way off. According to a reliable source, however, the first people will be driving around in a so-called ‘Apple Car’ as early as 2025.

Read on after the ad.

First Apple Car for sale from 2025

It is no longer a secret that Apple is working on an electric car. The iPhone manufacturer recently hired several former employees of well-known car brands such as Tesla and Mercedes. But how long will it be before we see cars with apples on the highway? The Apple Car, also known as ‘Project Titan’ internally, seems to be hitting the market sooner than we previously thought. Well-known source says Bloomberg.

According to the source, Apple plans to start selling its first car by 2025. Previously it was said that we had to wait at least another 7 or 8 years for a car from the manufacturer. However, 2025 seems ambitious, as the car must become fully self-driving. This means that passengers on the road can, for example, watch a movie or take a nap. It would also mean that driving licenses will no longer be required in the future.

Self-driving cars already exist, but they do not yet work completely independently. For example, in most cases drivers still have to keep their hands on the wheel. Even if Apple announces the car as early as 2025, there is a good chance that there will be years of development to follow.

More about the Apple Car

The Apple Car is slowly turning from dream to reality. Although we know few concrete details about the car, the release is getting closer. Of course, much of the current information is based on rumours, but there is evidence that Apple is following the electric car industry with great interest. In addition, the manufacturer is adding more and more former employees from the automotive industry to the ‘Project Titan’ team.

For example, at the end of 2020, a former Porsche CEO switched to Apple to work on the mysterious project. In September 2021, Apple hired two former Mercedes engineers. Apple also acquired a series of start-ups involved in (autonomous) driving, such as Drive.AI. Apple’s most recent hire is Christopher “CJ” Moore, a former Tesla engineer. Moore specializes in self-driving cars.
