Apple Watch Series 8: measure body temperature

Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo said on Twitter that Apple originally wanted a function to measure body temperature for the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple eventually decided against it, because the algorithm they had created did not meet the requirements in time.

The Apple expert now expects that the Apple Watch Series 8 will soon be able to measure body temperature. He also says that Samsung faces a similar challenge when it comes to measuring body temperature. Kuo thinks the feature may not be ready for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 either.

Both Kuo and Mark Gurman of Bloomberg have said several times last year that the Apple Watch from 2022 will have a function to measure body temperature. But it has been remarkably quiet about this in the last few months.

Hopefully, the smart watch will now have the function to measure body temperature. But it can be concluded from Kuo’s tweets that the Apple expert is not yet completely sure whether the function will eventually appear on the Apple Watch Series 8.
