Apple Watch Series 7 or 8 gets blood pressure monitor and thermometer

Apple has quite a few new health features planned for the Apple Watch. Unfortunately, they are (most likely) not yet for the Apple Watch Series 7, but for a successor.

Read on after the ad.

New features successor Apple Watch Series 7

Apple is busy coming up with new health features for the Apple Watch. For example, there has been talk for a while that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have the option to measure your blood pressure. Mark Gurman however, recently dispelled this via Twitter with a short ‘no chance‘. Still, Apple is still working on it and they are still developing these (and other features).

Sleep well! Or not?

The current Apple Watch can track all your sleep, but new features are also expected for this feature. This makes it possible to recognize sleep patterns and sleep apnea with your Apple Watch. For example, a feature that Fitbit already has with the Sleep Score feature.

Measuring blood sugar has also been on Apple’s list for some time. In 2017, there were already rumors that Tim Cook was wearing a blood sugar tracker connected to his Apple Watch. There just doesn’t seem to be much progress in the matter. However, Apple is still working on the development as they are collaborating with the University of Singapore on a project for people with prediabetes.

Check body temperature

According to Bloomberg stands for the ‘Apple Watch Series 8’ also a thermometer function in the offing. For example, your Apple watch will let you know when you have an increase. According to Bloomberg, the thermometer can also be used by women who are planning a pregnancy.

Apple Watch Series 6 review

With a built-in thermometer, the health functions of the Apple Watch can be expanded considerably. The only question is how Apple will process a sensor in the watch.

Apple Watch Series 7

Before that, however, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple may be holding three different events in September and we expect to see the Apple Watch Series 7 during the iPhone 13 event. The exact date is not yet known.

In the corridors there is talk of 14 September. So keep an eye on our website for the latest news. You can of course also follow us via the newsletter or the (free) iPhoned app.
