Apple Watch Series 7 comes in two new sizes

The release of the Apple Watch Series 7 is getting closer and closer. As a result, more and more is known about the new smartwatch. Now it appears that it is getting bigger than its predecessor.

Read on after the ad.

Rumor: Apple Watch Series 7 is getting a bit bigger

The Apple Watch Series 7 will get two new sizes: 42 millimeters and 45 millimeters. That discovered MacRumors on Weibo, a Chinese social network. The Series 6 was available in a 41-millimeter and a 44-millimeter version. So it’s not a big difference. Apple probably realizes the larger screens by making the screen edges narrower.

According to the post on Weibo existing Apple Watch bands remain compatible with the Apple Watch Series 7. That is a relief, since many Watch users have invested heavily in the quite pricey bands.

This isn’t the first time Apple has made the Apple Watch’s screen a bit bigger. In 2018, the screen of the Series 4 grew by no less than 30% compared to its predecessor, the Series 3. Even then, previously purchased bands remained compatible with the new Watch.

Apple Watch Series 7 gets a fresh design

According to well-known good Jon Prosser, the new sizes are not the only changes in the Apple Watch Series 7. The smartwatch will receive a completely new design, with flat bezels and new colors.

The design of the Series 7 is thus more in line with Apple’s other products. The iPhone 12 got an angular design last year and the long-awaited iPhone 13 also retains the same design.

Apple is likely planning three different events in September. We expect to see the Apple Watch Series 7 during the iPhone 13 event. The exact date on which this event will take place is not yet known. In the corridors there is talk of 14 September. Please keep an eye on our website for the latest news.
