Apple Watch: Apple had considered a ceramic case for the very first model
Apple had indeed imagined a first model of Apple Watch without concessions on “noble” materials. Images of a prototype ofApple watch with ceramic case were indeed published by a certain @DongleBookPro. This prototype concerns the very first generation of Apple Watch, knowing that it will be necessary to wait until Series 2 for Apple to distribute a ceramic Apple Watch for sale.

Interestingly this was manufactured in 2014, indicating Apple could have launched the ceramic model with the original watch opposed to the Series 2 pic.twitter.com/Bq4ZaOZ7fO

This Apple Watch prototype (no logo, unfinished engraving “Lorem Ipsum”, etc.) is composed of a really elegant white ceramic case. This prototype of the original model would have been developed in 2014, a year before the release of the first commercial model of the Apple Watch. For what reasons Apple would have finally decided not to release this model? The most logical explanation is probably that this choice of material would have turned out to be far too expensive for the end user, even as Apple launched a brand new product on the market (and therefore without any certainty of success).
